Sources and coverage
Well Intelligence Platform reference: sources and coverage.
What the preview serves
The public research preview contains a bounded selection of public Pennsylvania well records. Names, permit identifiers, locations, and available production reports come from qualified public sources. Missing metrics remain missing. Source-published 2D paths and survey-derived 3D paths retain their distinct classifications.
Research coverage is reviewed
The direction includes Northeast and Appalachian research, including Marcellus and Utica. The selected records do not establish complete Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New York, or national coverage. Request a coverage review for your API or permit identifier, well name, or geography. An inquiry does not verify a record or grant access.
Retrieval beyond the qualified public selection, precise geometry, and exports requires qualified sources and verified commercial entitlement. Permission to reuse a source and permission for an account to retrieve it are separate requirements. Supplied Blackhill/Enverus geometry and private customer records remain excluded from the research release.
Earlier federal offshore snapshot
The September 5, 2026 BOEM Green Canyon snapshot contained 389 borehole source records, 434 completion groups, and 6,394 completion-month reports covering January 2025 through June 2026. These are historical dataset-specific counts, not unique physical wells or national coverage. The snapshot used surface points only; it did not establish measured laterals.
The new preview replaces anonymous delivery of that snapshot. Historical public downloads and third-party caches cannot be recalled. The software does not claim exclusive ownership of regulator information; its value is the organized research and retrieval workflow.
Source meaning
Authorized research must preserve record identity, source, acquisition date, reporting group, period, units, and missing observations. A source borehole record, a completion, a production report, and a physical well are different counting units. Available documents must be linked to the correct record and permitted for the account.
